Development Board
The Development Board, which is established to develop cooperation between public institutions and organizations, private sector, non-governmental organizations, universities and local administrations in the region in line with the regional development goal, and to direct the agency, consists of a maximum of 100 (one hundred) members in a structure that will ensure the balanced representation of the provinces.
The Development Board is the advisory body of the Agency and meets at least twice a year. The duties and powers of the Development Board are as follows:
a) To elect the representatives of the private sector and/or non-governmental organizations to be in the board of directors in regions consisting of one province and their double backups respectively.
b) Discussing and evaluating the agency's annual activity and internal audit reports and making recommendations to the board of directors.
c) To make recommendations to the board of directors regarding the problems of the region and solution offers, promotion, potential and priorities.
d) To report the results of the meeting to the Ministry of Development and to publish a final declaration regarding the meeting.
Development Board Legislation
ARTICLE 191 - (1) In line with the regional development goal, a development board is established to develop cooperation between public institutions and organizations, private sector, non-governmental organizations, universities and local administrations in the region and to direct the agency.
(2) The Development Board consists of a maximum of 100 members, with a structure to ensure a balanced representation of provinces.
(3) The number of representatives to be sent by public institutions and organizations, private sector and non-governmental organizations to send representatives to the Development Board, their term of office and other issues are determined by the President's decision.
(4) Development Board elects a Chairman and a Deputy Chairman from among its members in its first meeting. The term of office of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman is two years.
(5) When the membership of the President and Deputy Chairman with the institution represented, the Board Presidency and Vice Presidency duties are terminated and at the first meeting, a President and Vice President are elected again.
(6) Development Board convenes at least twice a year upon the invitation of the Chairman of the Board. In addition, the Board is called for a meeting by the Chairman of the Board upon the request of one-fifth of the total number of members.
(7) The Development Council convenes with one more than half of the total number of members and takes decisions with the majority of the participants. In cases where the meeting quorum cannot be achieved, the new meeting date is determined by the Chairman, not exceeding fifteen days, and the meeting quorum is not required in this meeting.
