The tour planning officers and managers of JTB Group, one of the leading tourism firms in Japan, visited Gaziantep in the context of a field trip organized by Turkish Embassy in Tokyo, Japan.
In the visit program developed by Silkroad Development Agency in collaboration with Gaziantep Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism and Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce, the Japanese mission visited historical, cultural and touristic destinations in Gazintep and examined several hotels and restaurants.
The visit starting from Ancient City of Zeugma continued with the boat trip between Halfeti-Rumkale. The Japanese mission was hosted by provincial officials in a meeting lunch. At the lunch, the tourism operators and travel agencies located in Gaziantep met with the Japanese counterparts. The mission then visited the Coppersmits' Bazaar where they were informed of the traditional products and local handicrafts of Gaziantep. Yesemek Open Air Museum, the first sculpture workshop in the world, and the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, one of the biggest mosaic museums in the world, was also visited by the mission.
As an output of the visit, it is planned to prepare tour packages for Japanese tourists by designing alternative routes and destinations in Gaziantep and Adiyaman.
